Welcome to Holy Cross Funerals

Holy Cross Funerals EntranceHoly Cross Funerals began its operation in 1999 as an outreach of the Catholic Parish of Holy Cross, Redcliffe City and remains an important apostolic work of Holy Cross Catholic Parish.

The Catholic Church ensures that all her beloved children are cared for throughout their lives until the time to depart this world, then offers consolation to the grieving family.

The funeral rites are the way the Church says farewell to its members through ritual. The loved one is greeted at the Church and sprinkled with Holy Water, recalling their incorporation into the Christian family through the waters of Baptism. They are farewelled through prayers asking God to welcome them into Heaven and eternal life.

For Christians, the funeral rites of the Church assist the family to farewell their loved one through worship, praise and thanksgiving for the gift of a life now returned to God, the Creator and the hope of the just. The Church through its funeral rites commends its beloved to God’s merciful care and the celebration brings hope and consolation to the bereaved family.

Holy Cross Funerals has expanded its pastoral care of families from Redcliffe, throughout Brisbane, and now includes Ipswich and Toowoomba as well as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, offering its service of support for families of all Christian denominations.

Mr Novella and the staff of Holy Cross Funerals are committed Catholics or members of Christian Churches, and from the first enquiry are able to assist with all practical and spiritual aspects of the funeral for your loved one. Families often plan in advance some aspects of the funeral by choosing scripture verses and hymns which can be used in the funeral itself.

I commend Holy Cross Funerals to assist you to farewell your loved one at, probably, the hardest time of our human journey.

God Bless
